jEANETTE tE rANGI
kai something something
Jeanette works cloesely with our Kaumātua to ensure they remain connected to the iwi, and informed of our kaupapa and the opportunities available for themselevs and their whānau. Jeanette works by contacting kaumātua to assess what needs we can help with, then going out to visit kanohi-ki-te-kanohi, bringing our pānui, kai, an ear to listen, and whatever else our kaumātua need, including help registering to our annual Kaumātua Grant
"He rākau tawhito, e mau ana te taitea i waho rā, e tū te kōhiwi"...
Kaumātua grant
The easiest of our services to connect with, as this stipend goes through anually. Once you're signed up, thats it! Jeanette can help kaumātua register to RoMST, and/or sign up for this grant.
Kai support
Te Whare Manaaki, our in-office pantry, is available for all uri to help keep their cupboards full. For kaumātua, Jeanette can deliver this to their address.
pānui
Our bi-monthly pānui, Pitopito Kōrero is available on our Facebook, though we understand not all kaumātua are online. Jeanette is able to bring physical copies of our pānui as they become available
archive
Jeanette is currently upskilling in order to capture our kaumātua korero through interview, and archive this appropriately
kōrero
Sometimes our kaumātua just need an ear to listen and a friendly face to korero with.
Tautoko
If there are any other areas or kaupapa you or your kaumātua would like help with, please reach out and we'll do our best to tautoko
