For stakeholders
As the PSGE for Rangitāne o Manawatū, we act as the collaborative bridge between organisations, non-profits, national bodies and local iwi in order to deliver outcomes that work for all parties. As the entity entrusted with advancing our iwi’s long-term interests across environmental stewardship, cultural revitalisation, and socio-economic wellbeing, we seek to partner with aligned organisations through structured agreements to deliver coordinated, measurable impact across our Pou.
Why partner with RoMST?
Rangitāne o Manawatū Settlement Trust (RoMST) is the mandated Post Settlement Governance Entity for Rangitāne o Manawatū and the recognised iwi authority for engagement within our Area of Interest under the Rangitāne o Manawatū Claims Settlement Act 2016. Representing six Rangitāne hapū, RoMST provides the appropriate pathway for organisations seeking to engage with Rangitāne on matters relating to land use, environmental management, cultural heritage and regional development.
Alongside this statutory mandate, RoMST maintains practical capability across environmental stewardship and kaitiakitanga initiatives, cultural advisory and mātauranga Māori, education and community programmes, and large scale community events that maintain strong connections with Rangitāne whānau. Partnering with RoMST ensures organisations are engaging with the recognised authority representing Rangitāne o Manawatū while working with a trusted organisation that maintains active relationships across the communities it serves.

How do we work
RoMST works alongside organisations, agencies and community partners to ensure projects within the Rangitāne Area of Interest are developed with appropriate cultural understanding and local knowledge. Our team provides guidance and support across environmental stewardship, cultural heritage and mātauranga Māori, education and community initiatives, and engagement with Rangitāne whānau.
Through early engagement and ongoing partnership, we help organisations navigate cultural considerations, strengthen relationships with local communities, and deliver outcomes that respect the values and responsibilities of Rangitāne as mana whenua.
